How I became The Dog Photo Guy

Hi All!

I'm Scott Bedenbaugh, and I started as a hobbyist photographer over 40 years ago.

About ten years ago, as the economy threw my normal work life into turmoil, I was looking to find a "way of life" I could enjoy more. I'd recently jumped on the "digital photography" bandwagon, and found so much new excitement in the tools available as a photographer. After about two years of research, joining and attending classes and workshops with the Professional Photographers of America, I officially created Pix2Go Studios.

One of my first ventures became an early turning point. I was asked by a friend to photograph a three-day camp / workshop for canine nose work. The joy I found watching and photographing the people and their dogs had me hooked. I knew I had found my niche, and "my people"!

I've since been fortunate to photograph (and video) over 100 scent work trials, and countless private photo sessions. I've been to dock events, flyball, frisbee, agility....

Somewhere along the way, I was introducing myself to someone at a trial, when she looked at me and said "Oh, yeah, you're the dog photo guy! I've heard about you!"

Now I have well over a half million photos in my archives. I'd love to have the chance to add some of your dog to the collection. I'd love to get to tell the story of you and your dog in photographs.

And yes, my dog Akamai (Australian Cattle Dog), is my "spokesdog". He's 12 now, and I'll never have enough photos of him, ever.
